Salvation

When a person repents of sin and trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, that person is forgiven of sin and receives the gift of eternal salvation (right relationship with God). The Holy Spirit takes up residence in that person, teaching and equipping him or her to be a disciple of Christ, and confirming that the person is indeed a child of God.

Here is what the Bible says about Salvation

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
 John 3:16

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 10:9-10

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said,  If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.

Jesus, please save me, and rescue me from my sin,. I turn from my sins and trust you alone, I believe in you Jesus and give you my heart and my life. I am all yours and will follow you from this moment on. Thank you for saving me and making me yours. In Jesus Name  Amen.
